CLEANING SUB-CONTRACTORS
Most new cleaning companies that want to start
earning revenues right away without spending too much money start by
getting there work from other
janitorial cleaning services companies. This is
the easiest and most cost effective way to start earning money as a
cleaning sub-contractor.
But in order to be considered as a legitimate
cleaning sub-contractor, most companies will require you to carry
liability insurance, WSIB coverage, and have a registered business of
some sort. You can get more information on opening a
janitorial business by
visiting our article page on our website.
So the question is how do you get involved with
other
cleaning services companies
as a cleaning sub-contractor? First, start by going to your local
chamber of commerce to get information on the local cleaning companies
in your area. You will need to decide what types of properties you're
interested in servicing. There are generally 4 types of properties:
Commercial, industrial, residential, and retail. Of course, you will
need to have experience in servicing whatever types of properties you're
interested in. If you are a complete novice at the cleaning business,
most companies will start you off with smaller accounts. There is an old
saying that says "Never put the carriage before the horse". If you lack
experience, take the time to learn the tricks of the trade before you
start advertising yourself and or your business as seasoned
professionals. I would not advise anyone to get involved as a cleaning
sub-contractor unless they have experience, and are committed to the
business long term.
A couple of different ways to find more companies
are the yellow pages, newspapers, internet, and of course networking.
Make sure you get some business cards made so that you can hand it out
to everyone you run into on daily basis. This will be the bread and
butter of your business long term. There is no special formula on how
and where to hand out business cards. As in every other business, it's a
numbers game. The more people you talk to, the more potential revenues
you can earn. Everyone you meet is fair game. Even if they don't need
you, they might know someone in the future that may need your help.
Now that you have built your list of cleaning
companies, you now need to contact each and every single one of them to
solicit your services. Send them some information on your business, and
references if available. Cleaning companies are always looking for new
cleaning sub-contractors to service some of there accounts. Not all
clients allow sub-contracting so please understand that not all cleaning
accounts can be sub-contracted. But don't let that stop you. Continue
calling around, and sooner or later you will get offered work. I have
met quite a few people that earn $15,000/month without spending a dime
on advertising. They simply approached other companies and pick up
enough work to keep them busy around the clock. They have no expenses,
and earn complete profits on all of the jobs they do. That is a great
way to start earning money right away so that you can re-invest to grow
your business. Hope this article helps you in becoming a cleaning
sub-contractor.
