Before you can get any cleaning job you have to put a bid in. Once your bid is accepted then you can start the job. But the question is how do you figure out exactly what your cleaning bid should be? There are so many factors that can go into your bid and trying to figure out exactly what it should be can be difficult.

There are some things that you should keep in mind when you are writing up your cleaning bid. The first one is how to charge it. Your first instinct may be to charge for the hour. That can be a good idea for a small job, but for the larger jobs you can run into problems. Many customers will second guess you. If you say that it's going to take 3 hours to do a job they are going to say that they think it should be a shorter time. The easier way to do it is to figure out how many hours you think it should take and then bill as a bulk amount. For example if you think that it is going to take 3 hours and you charge $40 an hour then you should tell the customer that your bid is $120.

Another variable is how many people you think that the job will take. This depends on the size of the space being cleaned as well as the amount of cleaning the customer wants you to do. If the customer wants heavier cleaning or it's going to take more than one person you will want to increase your bid. You might want to increase your bid up to half for more than one person.

Before you get any job you have to put a cleaning bid in. Learning how to make a successful bid is part of the job. Once you have done that you will start getting more and more jobs. But you want to make sure that you don't undervalue yourself. That is one mistake that a lot of people make on their bids. They want to be the low bid so they make it so they can't afford to do the job.
